Vision and Execution
I wanted to create an engaging and educational project that incorporated audio, video, and seamless UX for a focused, immersive experience.
This presented unique challenges while developing in Storyline 360. I wanted to maintain a smooth audio and video experience, while also allowing the learner to progress through the project at their own pace.
To do this, I used variables and conditions to ensure the video would appear to play uninterrupted with a fading transition regardless of when the learner selected to move to the next slide. I also included a continuous background audio loop to play throughout the experience.
I used a contrast checker for accessibility, as many of the texts, images, and videos have semi-transparent elements and overlay each other.
Visual Mockups
I created wireframes in Figma with storyboarded the text beneath before building out the actual project in Storyline.
As grief can be a sensitive or painful topic, I also wanted to offer a way for learners to immediately reach out for support if needed. Near the end of the experience, the learner can choose to call the 988 suicide lifeline, or be directed to a webpage listing other crisis hotlines. The final slide includes other resources on grief for further learning.
